Talking about mobility products online is tricky. This is why we built this page: to let you experience, as much as possible, what a typical day with NOA would look like. This is by no means an exhaustive list of featues of NOA, but it gives you a clearer idea what to expect when using NOA. Training on NOA just takes a few hours, follow our manual

Configure the app once

NOA can be controlled via a smartphone application called NOA Companion. It’s a smart app that connects to NOA, allows you to program routes, change settings, and follow trainings. You just need to set it up once. All the rest can be handled from NOA’s buttons directly.

Start in 15 seconds

Start NOA at home

To start your day with NOA, slide a battery in and turn the headphones ON. 20 seconds later, NOA is ready! No need to use the app every time. Just click on the button on the right side and you’re good to go!.

Set your destination

Selecting your destination can be done in a single click on the device. On the side panel, with a click on the N1 button, go through your favorite destinations. No need to even take the phone out: Home, Gym, School… Personalize the destinations from the app.

Easy to wear

Light & comfortable

Most users highlight that NOA is light, and comfortable to wear. If you’re used to wear a backpack, you won’t really feel NOA on your shoulders. It weighs just more than 1 kilogram when the battery is inserted.

 

On top of backpacks

Most of NOA users have a backpack. You can very easily wear NOA on top of a backpack. The straps are entirely adjustable, and NOA sits perfects on top of any backpack. And even on top of winter jackets.

Walk in silence

Follow the guides

As you walk, NOA gives you GPS instructions clock-wise. The instructions follow Orientation and Mobility best practices, and try to minimize the amoung of information to process. Therefore, you’ll hear: “In 15 meters, turn right at 2 o’clock”.

A head-level branch

While walking, you hear a short sequence of incoming beeps. It’s a series of high-pitch beeps. This simply means that a head-level obstacle has been identified. Rotate your shoulders to find the limit of the obstacle, and resume on your path.

Crossing the street

Intersections are tricky. But understanding the layout of an intersection helps a lot before crossing. This is why NOA describes the layout of the intersection, the presence of a push button, where the crosswalk is, how long it is…

Finding the door

Your GPS just said “You have arrived. Destination is on your right”. You press the A1 button and select “Door finding”. This describes where doors are located. But NOA is even smarter. It looks for the actual door to enter the building, based on your GPS destination!

Anytime, anywhere

Complement to dogs

Walking with a guide dog? NOA has a guide dog mode. A doulbe click on the AI button will describe why your dog stopped. Obstacle detection also automatically detects your dog and detects obstacle it is likely to miss.

Night vision

From the start, we onboarded users with retinis pigmentosa (RP), who struggled with low-light settings. So we built NOA’s camera system such that it handles low light settings perfectly. And funny enough, NOA has a full night vision, meaning it can even detect objects at night.

Stop in a click

NOA is very easy to start and stop. If you’re bumping into someone you know, just click on the central button on the right. A single click and it’s on pause. After a few minutes, it goes in deep sleep and saves the battery. Perfect for your coffee break or if you meet someone in the street.

 

Store in the bag

NOA is light to wear, and delivered with a rain-resistant travel string-bag. Flatten your device by pressing on the straps, and slide it in the bag provided. In 2 seconds, your device is now securely stored in a string-bag that you can take anywhere with you.
