Introducing Paige Connect from Paige Braille
Paige Connect is an affordable adaptation for your classic braille writer that connects it wirelessly to any phone, tablet or laptop for instant braille translation and gamified learning.
Set up:
The Paige Connect board will be posted to you and the user manual walks you through setting up your Paige Connect at home. You simply unscrew eleven screws to swap the base of your braille writer with the Paige Connect board. It can be powered with any USB socket – you can use a mains adaptor, laptop, or battery pack.
Software:
Your Paige Connect should now appear as a bluetooth keyboard and is compatible with any software that accepts SDFJKL braille input. This includes Paige’s web app which is freely available at https://paigebraille.com.
Translate:
Paige’s translation tool displays the print translation of your embossed braille, making it easier to work with sighted teachers, family and friends who don’t know braille. Your screen reader will also speak each word as you emboss, giving you instant feedback. Once you have finished you can copy the translation or download it as a document.
Learn:
If you want to learn or practice braille, Paige’s learning tool interactively teaches you braille. Get started with our Rookie activities which teach you the alphabet, numbers, and basic punctuation. To save your progress you can create an account and celebrate your learning milestones!
