What can I do when JAWS® or Fusion® stop speaking while navigating in Microsoft® Teams?

A series of actions or keystrokes may cause JAWS or Fusion to stop speaking while navigating in Microsoft Teams. This may seem like Microsoft Teams is not responding to the user’s actions.

We have been in close collaboration with Teams developers to better understand the underlying cause. It turns out to be an issue in the Teams application, and Microsoft is working to develop a fix. We’ll update this TSN once that fix becomes available.

In the meantime, Microsoft has provided us with a temporary workaround.


When JAWS or Fusion screen reading stops in Microsoft Teams, hold down the WINDOWS key while pressing the UP ARROW, then the DOWN ARROW, then the UP ARROW again. Screen reading should resume.
